Beautiful location. Great room, very comfortable and modern for a good price.
Hard to find and then find where to go to get room key, as we didn't know it was part of the big hotel next door.

The lodges are located directly next to Carberry Tower, which means you are able to enjoy all the comforts, excellent food and fabulous company of the Carberry Tower staff. Beautiful gardens surround the lodges and Carberry Tower, which are set back from the road, as well as being a short drive to nearby attractions.

Handy for visiting our son in Musselburgh.
Very cramped, but it served our purpose. The bed was against the wall, but it was on castors so we moved it away so I could get out of bed more easily in the night. Standard kettle plus tiny sink = Michael Macintyre experience! but there are plastic cups in the 'bathroom', so used those to fill the kettle. The lodges are in peaceful surroundings - the other guests were quiet, so it was a good experience.

I thought I had ordered a packed breakfast but nothing appeared and I could not get hold of anybody on reception

The experience way exceeded my expectations. Friendly and helpful staff. Very interesting history. Wonderfull country feeling but close enough to frequent and safe public transport.
A few too many foreigners (eastern block). I know it is near impossible but would have appreciated a full Scottish staff to compliment the ambience of the Tower and maybe a hint of tartan or traditional dress for staff uniforms.

The location was excellent. Beautiful countryside , with easy access to edinburgh city centre .
The structure of the room was quite awkward and not user friendly. The sloping ceiling was intrusive and somewhat claustrophobic. The shower cubicle was so cramped it was virtually impossible to wash oneself properly, accessing one's feet was entirely in the domain of the contortionist. The extractor fan in the bathroom was loud enough to wake the dead. The toilet brush fell apart and was filthy with the produce of previous occupants. The siting of the mirror in the bathroom made it necessary for me to kneel down to shave. I was unable to park ouside the accomodation because all the spaces were taken , some by what appeared to be builders vans .
